London, 2nd May 2001 NewsCast, the leading producer and online distributor of business images, today announced the appointment of Eamonn McCabe as its director of photography and syndication. Formerly picture editor of The Guardian, Eamonn has an international reputation as a sports and portrait photographer and will continue to undertake press photography exclusively for the newspaper. He has won a series of awards throughout his career including News Photographer of the Year and Sports Photographer of the Year. He has been voted six times Picture Editor of the Year by the UK Picture Editors' Guild.
Commenting on his appointment, Eamonn said: "NewsCast employs some of the best photographers in the business and I plan to help strengthen this team as the company expands both inside and outside the UK. Its distribution system provides instant global media access to both corporate and syndicated business images.
